Welcome

Hello!

I’m Archana, welcome to Yoga Mitra. In Marathi, which is the Indian language that I speak, “mitra” means “friend”. My family traditions are rooted in yogic and ayurvedic philosophies.

 

I am a fully insured British Wheel of Yoga teacher with specialist training in Yoga for fatigue-related conditions and chair-assisted yoga. My personal yoga journey started 25 years ago as a way of moving gently after the birth of my second son. After working as a teacher and completing a Master's degree I worked in the NHS as a medical evidence specialist. 

 

The physical, breathing and meditation practices of yoga have been invaluable to my own wellbeing and to that of those around me.  I would be honoured to share the gentle friendship of yoga with you.

What are my classes like?

I teach gentle yoga classes which aim to support your wellbeing. Yoga is inclusive and I respect the fact that our individual bodies and experiences affect how we move, breathe and feel. I encourage practising with kindness towards ourselves and those around us.

 

My 90 minute mat-based classes at Sunnyside Barn are designed to help you ease into movements mindfully, helping you to develop balance, strength and flexibility at your own pace. Every class includes breathwork and a guided relaxation to help you feel replenished and refreshed.

My ONLINE 90 minute mat-based classes follow the same format as my in-person classes with the added advantage of being able to practice in the comfort of your own home. Please contact me via the form below for more details.

 

My 75 minute chair-assisted classes at Sunnyside Barn focus on gentle movement whilst seated on a chair or using it as a support. We look to build strength, flexibility, balance and coordination - with the aim of enhancing the ability to undertake daily activities - with the benefit of accessing the breathing and meditative benefits of yoga without lying down on the floor. After the class there is time for us to have a chat and a cup of tea.

My monthly ONLINE 90 minute relaxation class focusses on mindful movement and deep relaxation in the comfort of your own home via Zoom. Please contact me via the form below for further details.

Tuesdays:

2.00pm - 3.15pm (Chair-Assisted Yoga)  with time after class for a cup of tea

7.00pm - 8.30pm (Mat-based Yoga)

How much are my classes and how can you book?

Mat-based Yoga Classes

Book your first mat-based class using the button below at an introductory price of £10. â€‹Subsequent classes are booked as a half termly block (5-6 weeks) at £10 per class. Individual classes bought after your first class and outside the block booking are £12 per class. Please contact me by email or by using the form below for further details.

Chair-Assisted Yoga Classes
